CHAOHU UNIVERSITY

Chaohu University is a fully-funded public undergraduate institution under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. It was established in 1977 and its predecessor was Chaohu Normal College. In April 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to a university and renamed Chaohu University. In June 2006, it was granted the right to confer bachelor's degrees. In October 2019, it was approved as a project for new master's degree awarding. In February 2024, it was approved as a key project for establishing a master's degree awarding institution. The school covers an area of 1373.41 mu. It has 15 secondary colleges and 54 undergraduate programs. Currently, there are 1259 staff members, among whom 401 have senior professional titles or above, 4 are provincial academic and technical leading talents and reserve talents, 1 is a leading talent of the Jianghuai Culture, 1 is a leading talent of the provincial high-end talent introduction and cultivation program, 3 are provincial teaching masters, 43 are provincial young teachers, 24 are provincial teaching teams, 6 are provincial research teams, 109 are master's degree supervisors, 193 are jointly cultivated master's students, and 651 are dual-qualified teachers with both teaching and practical skills. The number of full-time students is nearly 17,000. The school adheres to the educational positioning of "locality and application-oriented". Currently, it has 15 national-level and provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction points, 1 national-level characteristic program, 66 national and provincial teaching achievements awards, 9 provincial-level and above characteristic (or cultivation) programs, 6 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilot programs, 2 provincial-level first-class (brand) programs, 7 provincial-level comprehensive experimental and training centers, and 19 provincial-level outstanding talent education and training plans.
