Shenyang Ligong University, located in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, is a university jointly built by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Liaoning Province, a university jointly built by the people's Government of Liaoning Province, China Ordnance Equipment Group and China Ordnance Industry Group, and a pilot university of excellent engineer education and training plan. [1] [58] Shenyang Polytechnic University was founded in 1948 as a special industrial school of the Military Engineering Department of the Northeast Military Region. In 1960, Shenyang Institute of Technology was established, and in 2004, it was renamed Shenyang Polytechnic University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. [1] As of April 2023, the school covers an area of 1.13 million square meters, with a building area of 490,000 square meters. It has 16 schools (departments), offering 49 undergraduate majors, 1 post-doctoral research mobile station, 1 post-doctoral research workstation, 12 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, 2 second-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, and 7 professional degree authorization points. There are 1788 faculty members, including 1138 full-time teachers, and more than 18,100 full-time students, including more than 15,000 undergraduates and more than 3,100 doctoral and master's students.
