Kunming Medical University (Kunming Medical University), located in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, referred to as "Kunming Medical University", is the largest medical college in Yunnan Province integrating teaching, medical treatment, and scientific research. The predecessor of Kunming Medical University was Donglu University Medical Specialized Department founded in 1933. It was established independently in 1956 and named Kunming Medical College. In 2012, it was renamed Kunming Medical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 1981, it became the first batch of master's degree programs in the country. The conferring unit was listed as a provincial key university in 1993, approved as a doctoral degree conferring unit in 1998, and merged into Yunnan Medical College in 2010. As of December 2022, the school has three campuses: Chenggong (main campus), Renmin West Road, and Pingzheng.
