Northwest University

Northwest University, short for "West University", located in Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province, is a comprehensive national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Shaanxi Provincial Government. It is also a national "double first-class" university. It has been selected as one of the universities in central and western China in the Basic Capacity Construction Project, the Discipline Innovation and Intellectual Introduction Program of Colleges and Universities, the National Public Graduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the National Demonstration Base for Cultivating Innovative Talents, the host university for international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship, and the National Demonstration University for deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform. It is a founding member of the China-Japan University Alliance for People-to-people Exchange, the New Silk Road University Alliance and the Chang 'an Alliance. It is one of the first doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree-granting institutions in China. It is the oldest institution of higher learning in Northwest China. In 1992, Northwest University established the School of International Cultural Exchange, which has gradually developed into one of the important bases for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in China. In 2004, Northwestern University established the French Alliance -- Xi 'an Language and Culture Training Center in cooperation with the French Union of Paris, which has become a platform for teachers and students of Northwestern University and even in Xi 'an to learn French and go to France for further study. In order to cultivate students' international vision, Northwestern University has carefully planned the exchange program that selects outstanding undergraduates to study in friendly cooperative universities in the United States, Germany, Japan, France, Britain and other countries for half a year or one year, and the program that selects some undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree or doctor's degree in famous foreign universities in the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, Austria and other countries.
